Sea Grape Leaf litter not only helps with providing a naturalistic appearance, but the leaves also provide hiding spots for animals such as dart frogs. Additionally, microfauna like springtails and isopods will use the decomposing Sea Grape leaves as food. In the forest, the leaf litter may be several inches thick. Typically in tanks, you want to have the leaves at least a few layers deep and you should routinely add Leaf Litter as you see them decomposing.
Sea Grape leaves are one of the longest-lasting leaves used in terrariums or vivariums due to their thickness from the long growing season in the southern United States. Due to the leaves' round shape and tropical appearance, Sea Grape leaf litter can offer a more tropical feel to any terrarium or vivarium than other varieties of leaf litter.
They are very leathery feeling and make a great addition to the naturalistic decor. They are harvested from areas that are free from pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. The majority of the leaves that you will receive are dry, brown, and very few are broken or in pieces.
*Please note our Sea Grape is measured by weight and not the number of leaves per bag.
