Use sandblasted grapevine in your enclosures to provide lots of climbing structure and as eye catching decor. This wood looks great in both desert and tropical enclosures and enjoyed by many terrestrial or arboreal reptiles and some amphibians. The Pangea Sandblasted Grapevine is ideal for moderate to low humidity enclosures, or enclosures that are not constantly wet or extremely humid. The number of branches, thickness, and exact size will vary widely as this is a natural product.

New Wood Quality Standards 

At Pangea Reptile, we care about the quality of your experience more than anything. For 2026, we are implementing new quality standards for our wood products to ensure that you receive the best possible reptile wood pieces for your next terrarium project. 

Every wood product that we ship to you must pass these new quality standards before it is deemed fit to ship. Wood pieces that fail to pass these checks are set aside and not shipped to you. 

What we measure with our new sandblasted grapevine standards 

Sizing Standards 

Our sizing standards ensure that each piece of grapevine wood that you order from Pangea Reptile will fit into a certain size range, based on what option you select:

Wood is a living object that can’t be made the same way every time, so we offer sizes within a certain range band. Please note that when sizing, we always measure the longest dimension of the piece. 

Quality Standards 

In addition to the size checks, we also appraise the quality of your wood product based on if it passes the following quality checks: 

Is the piece free of sharp edges? 

We ensure that your grapewood vine branch does not feature excessively sharp edges that could potentially harm you or your reptile. 

Is the piece free of embedded metal? 

Since the industry standard for growing grapevine is to let it climb on metal wires, there are rare cases where the wood can grow around the wire and become embedded with it. We carefully inspect each piece so none of this metal-embedded wood is sent to you. 

Does the piece have an appropriate number of knobby offshoots? 

In addition to these quality checks, we determine the number of knobby offshoots that each piece of wood has for its given size. These charming growths give the grapevine body and prevent them from being just a simple single stick shape.
