Although the cork we have is baked before it gets to us to ensure it is sanitized, we still highly recommend baking the pieces you receive before using them.
These virgin Pangea Cork Bark Flats look great in any reptile habitat. Often used for building climbing structures or for creating a natural terrarium background. Some pieces do have a slight curve to them having once been a part of a round tree. Cork tree bark does not rot even in very humid environments so don't hesitate to use it in any terrarium. Cork bark will float in an aquatic environment and many people use it as a natural turtle basking platform.
Our virgin Pangea Cork Bark Flats are sustainably sourced and shipped directly to us free of pests from Portugal.

At Pangea Reptile, we care about the quality of your experience more than anything. For 2026, we are implementing new quality standards for our wood products to ensure that you receive the best possible reptile wood pieces for your next terrarium project.
Every wood product that we ship to you must pass these new quality standards before it is deemed fit to ship. Wood pieces that fail to pass these checks are set aside and not shipped to you.
Sizing Standards
Our sizing standards ensure that each piece of cork bark that you order from Pangea Reptile will fit into a certain size range, based on what option you select:
|
Small |
Medium |
Large |
Extra Large |
|
3" - 7" |
7" - 11" |
11" - 14" |
14" - 17" |
Since all of our wood is organic and naturally grown, we offer sizes within a certain range band. The wood is a living object, so every piece will be shaped and sized a little differently! Please note that when sizing, we always measure the longest dimension of the piece.
Quality Standards
In addition to the size checks, we also appraise the quality of your wood product based on whether or not it passes the following quality checks:
Is the piece relatively flat in shape? (Not excessively thick?)
We will not send you cork bark that is too thick to easily shape and place to decorate your reptile’s enclosure.
Does the piece have an ashy grey texture on one side, and a brown woody texture on the other?
We ensure that your cork bark meets the standards of color that we set, and that it is not too pale or discolored.
Is the piece clean? (Free of spider webs and clumps of dirt. Lichen and moss may remain)
Cork wood should naturally have some moss and lichen on it, but spider webs and dirt are not acceptable and will not be sent to you.
Is the piece free of sharp edges?
Cork wood is soft for a type of wood, but sharp edges can still occur. We ensure that your cork wood does not feature excessively sharp edges that could potentially harm you or your reptile.
