Indian Almond Leaves 5 Pack (Terminalia catappa)
Indian almond leaves naturally release antimicrobial tannins in moist or aquatic environments creating what is commonly referred to as "Blackwater". These leaves are widely used with raising tadpoles and fish to help prevent bacteria and fungus from growing. These leaves are sterilized and pesticide free, making them completely safe to use in your bio-active terrarium or tadpole rearing tanks. Can be used decoratively for reptiles and amphibians.
Can be boiled to make your own Blackwater Extract or simply place leaves in your aquatic environment.
To make extract:
1. Bring water to a boil. Add 5 Indian Almond Leaves to boiling water for 5-10 minutes.
2. Remove leaves and let sit until water cools.
3. Use 1 oz of extract for each gallon of water.
