    Default Western hognose snake

Hi I'm trying to find more information on the western hognose. It's so hard to find good information do they need uvb? And is an heat mat or heat lamp a better option
Also is a humid hide to be in the enclosure at all times? Thanks for any information it will truly help

Hogs don't need uvb. Belly or overhead heat with a ceramic heat emitter will work. Any heat source will need a thermostat to regulate temps. You'll want to provide a heat gradient in the enclosure. Aspen shreds work best for substrate as they like to burrow.

I can't see my post, so I can't edit but no you don't need a humid hide at all times. I don't give my gophers one at all and they shed fine at 30-35% humidity. Just keep a bowl of fresh water in the enclosure big enough for the snake to enter if they wish.
