Default Help! White, web-like stuff forming in gecko's tank!

My gecko's tank has coconut fiber substrate and there are some driftwood pieces with this white, web-like fuzz growing on them. Is this a fungus? How do I get rid of it?

It sounds like mold. Driftwood will mold with high humidity. I would get rid of it, clean your tank, and use a different type of wood (mopani is good, can withstand the humidity).

It does sound like mould. You don't need to throw out your wood, though. You can bake it at a low temperature (250 or so for more than an hour) to kill the mould. As long as your tank does not stay humid all the time -- it needs to dry out every day -- it should be fine.

I don't know, I had several pieces of driftwood; I scrubbed it, baked it, I covered it with beeswax. My humidity gets down to about 60% every day, but it still molded. I had to get rid of all of it as I got tired of it coming back.
