  • Crested gecko accidentally burned!

Two days ago my female crested gecko jumped into a bowl of hot water. I got her out immediately then put her down on the cool floor. She has a couple small marks on her now, she can't climb on anything, she moves very slowly, her left back leg looks hurt and she won't jump anymore. What do I do?

The bowl had just been taken out of the microwave for 3.5 minutes.

Just give her time to heal. She is probably hurting pretty bad all over. Just keep an eye on her. Make sure she is eating. Put all her essentials on the floor so she can get to them. I'm sure her feet got burnt. Why did you have her out with the boiling hot water?

Neosporin without pain relief is supposed to be safe for reptiles. I wonder if that would help.

Still curious why you would have a lizard that jumps off of you near boiling water

Hi, I'd love to know how this all came out. Believe it or not, our juvenile crestie jumped.into a cup of hot tea. We feel awful, and his symptins are just like this. Is there hope?
