  • Crested gecko hatchling

I have a baby crested gecko who just hatched about 3 hours ago and he is in his new enclosure but I couldn't help but notice what looked like crested gecko hemipenes after he hatched. Is this normal or what should I do, in all my research I haven't found anything like it.

    Thanks

The hemipenes were on his body. I have never heard of this

probably incubation medium when it walked out of the egg, or yolk I doubt you could even notice baby hemi if it were exposed its so tiny. If you can take some pics it will help a lot .

I highly doubt it was hemipenes this early. I second the want for pictures, as my guess could be a prolapsed cloaca if it isn't yolk matter.

A pic will help, but I suspect it's the umbilical cord that connects the hatchling to the yolk sac for nourishment. It usually comes off a few hours after hatching. Just leave it be and it should fall off.
