  • HELP - Cloudy eyes

    Hello there,

It seems there are a lot of postings lately on here about problematic eyes. Two of my new gargoyles come down with cloudy eyes. They are housed separately in a naturalistic set-up but I think I might have contaminated one when feeding. Both of them are young 2 to 4 month old and shedding (with some difficulty).

Do you guys have a recommendation on any vets around the greater Washington DC area?

it sounds like they are shedding after they shed if they are still cloudy than take them to a vet. spay them with some water it will help with the shedding and keep them hydrated
    hope that helps

What kind of setup do you have? I know it's naturalistic, but is it primarily screen, is it an aquarium with screen top, or other? And do you have a good humidity gauge? I don't mean the stick-on dial kind; those can be wildly inaccurate. What temps are they at? Is there any chance you can get some pics of the problem?

Thanks for the responses. I have Exoterra with coco bedding and cypress bark on top. Couple live plants and accents (see pics). I am measuring humidity with a digital humidistat between 65 - 75. Daytime temperature is 78-80 nighttime tem is 72-75. Please see pics attached.
