  • GECKO FOOD

I feed my crestie gut loaded crickets with (reptile gutload, cricket drink)it's yellow in color and smashed up lil chunks. And every 2-3 days i'll put pears banana's, applesauce mixed up baby food for it. Well just 15mins ago i got him out and it was acting really weird like he couldn't move his legs, but once he got movin he looked fine. His colors were really dark, he was flickin his tail around like it was twitchin. When i put it back in his cage he laid on his back with his mouth open, i turned him over and now he's movin arouond but not much. Please respond asap i don't want to lose my crestie.

Are you giving your crestie any additional supplementation? (other than gutloaded crix?) If so... what are you giving him and how often are you giving it? You said that the tail was flickering, but is your crested having seizures? Have his motor functions improved?

yeah, i'm trying to find a vet, this suc@s because i thought i was doin everything right, i had a blue reptile light for night time i would mist him every night. I would also give him crickets and baby food every other day. I got him out this morning and looked at him again. He couldn't hardly move his front legs they were actually getting stuck, and he'd push himself with his back legs. The bad part is i would check on him every night and get him out and let him walk around my kitchen table, It's like it happened over night because i've never noticed it b4. THANX FOR YOUR HELP I'LL KEEP LETTING YOU KNOW.

im not an expert but as far as i know dusting the crix is necessary. gut loading alone doesnt do it from what ive been told.

Try to find a reptile vet, but like I said, even if you can't find a good herp vet, a regular vet should be able to get you the liquid calcium drops anyway. I still think it sounds like mbd, but I can't tell w/o seeing the gecko. Good luck!

went to vet, and of course it made al iar out of me, it was crawling around and jumpin like nothen was wrong. The vet did give it a shot of vitamin d-3 and also gave me some calcium drops. When we got home put him under night light but he was not movin around hardly at all did mist him though and also gave him crickets. Also got another question i have him in a critter keeper and then put him in the screen cage also. well got up this mornin and 3 crickets were runnin around in the screen cage so, i think there exscaping from the cracks in the lid of the cage. I also think thats why he's feelin bad cause he's not getting to eat. any help would be great. It weighs 4grams and his 4 months old is this a normal weight? what would be a good cage size?

i do not know if thats a good weight, but try feeding it baby food or something.. make sure the crickets are small enough for it to eat. also smaller sizes for smaller geckos r better suited so they can get their food easier. maybe crickets istn the best idea because he/she might not want to chase it. also crickets overnight in the cage without ur gecko eating it could stress it out big time..
