  • Lighting- How bright is too bright? (LEDs)

Hey guys, haven't been active in a really long time. Back with a question about lighting. I have 5 exo terras on a metal rack that I wanted to provide lighting for. I am leaning towards LED tape in cases that have frosted lens. I do not want to have lighting that would be too bright though. The lighting that I am planning on using is called 24V High Output "Cool White" LED. The lighting will be for 3 gargoyles, 1 crested, and 1 leachie.

Does anyone have experience with using LED tape for their enclosures? Input would be much appreciated
    Thanks!

I actually built a small light with led tape. Works pretty well, just don't look directly into it because it will be bright as hell. I just have fake plants and one gecko in that tank.

Thanks for your input, my exos all have fake plants as well. LEDs seem like the perfect solution. Do you have a lens over the LEDs or is it just the tape only?

Mine is the tape only. I built a wooden box for it and it doesn't get hot at all. I would have to look but I think I did 6 rows of strips with about 10 Leds on each. It's sitting on my 10 gallon vertical conversion tank. I can take pics if you would like.
