  • Terrarium mats?

Just wanted some thoughts on the rolls of mat for the bottom of the tank as opposed to paper towel or substrates that could cause impaction.

They are known to harbor bacteria, I would be cautious..

I would side with paper towels. The mats look a lot better but I've found that sometimes their toes can get stuck or if they bite it then they try to pull some of it up. Also JumpinJewels is right about the bacteria, washing the mats is a real pain, paper towels are much easier for cleaning and maintenance. Doesn't look as good but it's a good deal safer.

I prefer the look of paper towel personally.. One of my friends who is a breeder sold a gecko to someone who kept it on the carpet.. When he fed crix one night it completely messed up it's jaw and now the gecko has a severely bent jaw. The person who bought the gecko gave it back to him..
Correlophus ciliatus x5 (Bella, mango, tiny, butterscotch and daisy, and yes daisy is a boy)
