How can I tell if my gecko is dehydrated?
I can create "mounds" of his skin if I gently put it between two fingers and it stays up.
How can I make sure he drinks? I offer water in an eyedropper but he licks it up once then stops.
Usually as soon as I see him start to lick it I get pushing more up for him to drink.
    Does this seem right.

Just make sure there are plenty of water droplets on the plants and tank for him to lick up. Aside from disease as long as you mist regularly they should be fine as far as hydration.

That's a classic sign of dehydration.

I'd try giving him a "sauna," that's one of the best ways to help re-hydrate a gecko.

Is his color off at all? He may be about to shed... in which case a sauna would probably be helpful, too.

        How does the sauna help?
How long should he be in for?

There's some evidence to suggest that geckos can absorb moisture through their skin and/or vents.

If your gecko is in shed or about to shed but its skin is dry, the extra moisture can help the shed go easier for the gecko.

There's no set "rule," but I usually leave mine in a sauna for at least 20-30 min, as long as an hour if I wanted to make sure that they had time to rehydrate. Just be sure to keep an eye on them, don't just put them in there and leave.

Okay I just put the little guy in there. And he already seems to be licking the wet paper towel.

I would do the sauna and make sure he has a water bowl in his enclosure at all times.

He's got two water dishes. And mist when I wake and maybe lunch time or dinner but other than that I let it dry out then before bed it gets another misting.
Just took him out, nothing really seems different.

Do you have a humidity meter?
