  • CGD-How to Tell if it's gone bad?

I know I've read that it should last a year or so. However I couldn't find out information on how to tell if it has gone bad or not?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

There is no way to really tell that it has gone bad.

At room temperature the vitamins will start to degrade after about a year, so it doesn't necessarily suddenly go "bad" it just progressively loses nutritional value.

If it's fed exclusively this could be more of a problem, If you also feed dusted gutloaded insects then you are fine to continue feeding it after the 1 year expiration.

Keeping it in the fridge will keep it fresh longer, and it lasts a lot longer than a year, but its "like new" for the first year.

Vitamins and what not will degrade over time as stated by Matt.

An example is Calcium w/D3. It degrades much quickly than other supplements. I usually never buy large amounts because of this.
