  • Calcium Sac

I was wondering if anyone knew the best method on how to examine a cresteds calcium sac? Anyone hae a certain technique to get there mouths open?

I use a rubber spachula or how ever its spelled. Works ok for me they bite and fight it but I do get to see glimpses of the sack enough to see if there full or not.

I hold them in my hand and tap the side of their mouth with a finger. They will usually gape at me.

Hold them so that they feel trapped in one hand. They are more likely to gape at you. I also find that tapping on the side of their jaw makes them open more than running my finger along their mouth.
