  • Single pairing sufficient for breeding?

I have paired and witnessed successful breeding in two of my pairs. Is it necessary to leave the pair together or is one mating session sufficient? If not would a week paired together ensure enough breeding sessions have occurred for the sperm to be utilized/stored? I am weary of leaving them together for extended periods of time. Thanks in advance.

Well, breeders often only leave pairs together for a night or two, and crested geckos have the ability to retain sperm for the season. A week should be good as well! I keep some pairs in from two nights, and some can even stay together for the season! If you witness successful breeding, that should be enough to last the season.

    Good luck!
