    They will also fire & unfired to blend with their environment so predators can’t see them.

    No, not all bad. Many fire up when they are hunting, when they are mating, and during the night when it's dark, possibly to camouflage themselves. They get paler when they are resting or sleeping.

    Stress and heat can cause them to fire up. That's not to say this guy was stressed...a change in environment, more activity or handling than usual, can also fire up a gecko.
