  • Chantilly NARBC is no more!

I don't know if this is new information for any of the Pangea Forum Addicts living on the east coast but hopefully it will help out a few of you. I thought it was quite odd that the NARBC website didn't have any Chantilly, VA dates listed for this year although there were dates listed on Reptilechannel.com's Event page for it (Nov 8-9th).

    http://www.reptilechannel.com/reptil...le-events.aspx

Anywho, I emailed Brian Potter who is the NARBC point of contact and inquired about the show and he replied saying that they will no longer have a Chantilly show This makes me a sad, sad panda since I had so much fun at last year's show.

I hope this clears up any confusion about the Chantilly Conference. I guess what confused me is that they stopped supporting the show without letting anyone know. I looked in the FAQs and searched the web for any information that they officially stopped the annual Chantilly show and seeing how I did not find anything, I emailed Brian Potter. Oh well, I guess I will see everyone this weekend at the Mid-Atlantic Reptile Show then!

I thought the show was a total let-down... I was very disappointed at the complete lack of vendors and selection. Personally, I was kind of annoyed that I drove 3.5 hours for it. If you've been to Tinley, you'll understand how bad it was. No offense to the people that were there, but I just think the turnout was pretty poor.

And having shows like White Plains and Hamburg around... I dunno, just not worth it.

Saucy, I do agree that the Chantilly NARBC was a lot smaller than it should have been. We just drove 4 hours for the White Plains show this past weekend and had a lot of fun, especially since we were able to meet up with a bunch of of fellow Pangeans. What stinks so much about the Chantilly NARBC is that I hate to see a reptile show close it's doors.

Do Chicago instead... trust me. It's probably one of the best shows in the nation.

Another Texs show they already have one, we need a NARBC North Carolina, or NARBC in the Smokeys how come I can never go to a reptie show and not spend the whole day driving.

The Chantilly show I think was too close to Tinley, it seemed to be all the leftovers of the Tinley show.

              Thanks Derek

We could just do NARBC Derek Dunlop's House to replace Chantilly. What's the fire code maximum capacity of your place? Could we fit around 200 tables in there? How could we reserve a table? These are the questions that the people demand answers to

I am probably already in violation of some fire code, to many animals per square foot or something like that

Though we have a huge nice grassy open lot across the street, so we could have an outdoor expo. Temps are around 75 during the day this time of year so it works just the same
