  • My pup

After 14 great years, my sweet puppy girl is not doing well. Her and her brother were rescues after being dumped on the side of the road. She has been at the vet since yesterday morning and an ultrasound tonight showed her organs are not doing well. Her back legs are failing too. She will be put to sleep tomorrow. Not really sure how to cope yet, but I have to figure out how to say goodbye for the last time when I get to the vet in the morning. Her brother will surely follow soon. She is the alpha. He has cancer but is still functioning well right now, but with her gone, I'm expecting him to crater too fairly quickly. Sorry for the long post. Just don't have much of outlet to talk about this since I get choked up about it really easily.

I am SO sorry, I lost a pup 2 years ago, he is the one I grew up with. It's so hard, but don't hold it in like I did. Tons of love dear, if you ever need to talk, message me <3<3 -hugs so tight-

Hey, you know that you will be in my thoughts. Miserable part of sharing our lives with these guys. There is no doubt that she was one lucky pup to have found a good home after a rough start.
Let me know if there is anything I can do.
I think 5 species of geckos is enough! Lets not talk about the snakes!

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Today was really hard. Showed up at the vet early this morning. My girl had further deteriorated overnight and couldn't walk anymore. Crazy how it went from her just having some hip trouble to being like this in 5 days. I sat on the floor in the exam room for 15 minutes with her just petting her and talking to her. Hard to know what to say when you know you'll never see her again. I wish she had been at home the past two days. She drools a lot when she is scared and her lips were stained brown from drooling so much. Couldn't stand to see her like that. She went to sleep with my parents petting her and then they gave her the drugs and she went.

Sorry for your loss, that was so nice of your parents to stay, so that she didn't have to leave alone and scared. I am always with my animals too, holding their paw paws and petting them as they go to sleep... they don't know that we won't be seeing them again, only we know that. RIP Golden girl

I'm so sorry for the loss of your beautiful girl. I had to have my beloved mini schnauzer of 14 years put down a year ago and it's the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I will always miss him, but it does get better with time. You are in my thoughts and prayers, and I wish you the best of luck with her brother.

Hugs, It sounds like these two dogs got the best homes ever, and it is just her time. it so hard having beloved pet put sleep I still remember having Sasha put to sleep and how hard it was. Sigh I wish critters would live as long as we do.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. It sounds like she was a very lucky dog to be rescued by a family who loved her so very much. Its just hard on those of us left behind.
