  • RIP Tex

Tex was a loved family member, we adopted 8 years ago from a Rott Rescue. He really enjoyed going for walks and car rides. He even bonded with our youngest cat, we would always find them sleeping together. Below he is with Jinx (our female Rott) taken yesterday, Jinx is on the left and Tex is on the right. RIP Tex 2/14/2001-5/17/2010.

Oh Im so sorry for your loss. He was a beautiful boy. I have a soft spot for rotties, they are so sweet and cuddly. He was lucky to have such a good life though, so many rotties end up at the shelter.

Thanks everyone! He had such a great personality and will be dearly missed. Jinx was also a rescue, so when we get another dog it will probably be from a rescue also.

Tex lived a good long time with you. He was loved so much. People and animals can't ask for anything more than that.
So wonderful you took both of them in and gave them such a great home! It is heartbreaking to lose one that is so loved.
Thoughts are with you and your family. Your poor Jinx will probably have some issues with this as well. Looking for Tex.

              Tribute To A Best Friend

              Sunlight streams through window pane
unto a spot on the floor....
              then I remember,
it's where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
              and muted echoes sound....
              then I remember,
It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
              and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can't be yours....
              your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floor
              and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
              I'll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
              until we meet above.

He looks like he was a beautiful dog. Look at that nice yard he had to play in. I know he was happy with you!

Thanks. Yeah, he was spoiled. When we bought our house 4 years ago, we bought it for the 1/2 acre fenced in yard for the dogs. We are also 1/2 mile from a state park where the dogs enjoy hiking through the woods. Jinx is just starting to realize Tex is not around, so I'll be keeping her busy with extra attention and long walks.
