Hersey and Dolly were to be married next week on Tuesday. I was hoping for lavender (like Hersey mamma Orchid) with dal spots. U had just introduced them again for the second time on Saturday when I fed the crix. Hersey was eating his crix and chirping in my hand, so I brought out my Dolly (named for D Parton cause she was a big breasted blonde lol) Hersey would chirp at her and let Dolly eat all he crix she wanted. I never thought their first romantic meal together would be their last. Now they won't have lav dals. I understand that this wasn't my fault, but I feel so aweful!
I called the store myself and told them what had happen, I spoke with the owner who told me it was a horrible accident and the crix were supposed to have been in the back room, but a teenage new employee didn't know and sold me the exscaped crix. The owner has offered to pay half my vet bills, which I am greatful for.
I also got a call from the vet, Tigger, Joker, Patsy have all drank water and licked CGD off their nose. Geiko on the other hand refused the CGD but drank water. I'll know more tomorrow. Once again thank you all! Huuugs

I am so sorry, what a heartache this must be for you. Shame on the pet store! One of the many reasons I feed only my raised Dubia so I can control 100% what my animals are eating. You and the rest of your geckos will be in my thoughts!

    Oh, honey!!! How HORRIBLE!!!

There's NO WAY you could have known that the crickets were bad!! This is NOT your fault. Stupid $&#%^^%& pet shop!!! They should be fined at the very least!!

My heart goes out to you at this time of loss. You did the right thing for your geckos-in spite of how much it hurt YOU.

That's the most loving thing you could possibly have done!!

And I pray that your other geckos get past this and go on to live long and happy lives.

    HUGE HUGS-
    Donna

    A Pet's Prayer

Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is
more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your
hand between the blows, your patience and understanding
will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the worlds sweetest music, as
you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep
    falls upon my waiting ear.

When it is cold and wet, please take me inside, for I am now a
domesticated animal, no longer used to the elements.

And I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the
    hearth.

Though, had you no home, I would rather follow you through
ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home
in all the land, for you are my God and I am your devoted worshiper.

Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not
reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst.

Feed me clean food, that I may stay well, to romp and play and do
your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able
to protect you with my life should your life be in danger.

And, beloved master, should the Great Master see fit to deprive me of
my health or my sight, do not turn me away from you.

Rather, hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest --- and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I
drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands.

started a topic Two loves gone

    Two loves gone

*sigh* I had to euthinize two of my babies this morning, and may lose four more. Yesterday before I left to work I noticed three of my adult geckos were sick, Hersey, Patsy, and Dolly weren't moving, not eating, or drinking. I called the only reptile vet around and scheduled the earliest appointment I could, which was at 9 this morning. When I woke up this morning I noticed Geiko, Tigger, Joker doing the same thing and that Dolly and Hersey had runny very bloody pooops. So I took all of them and the poop to the vet! The vet vet first thought it a parisite called or from amobea or something like that, but I argued with her because I know the breeder treated her geckos for parasites and worms and just had healthy geckos in general! Plus Geiko and Tigger came from a differant source. She she then took the bloody poo out of the room and when she came back she asked if I was feeding all my geckos the same CGD, yes I am, she asked about insects... Then something clicked in my head! ALL the geckos that had ate crickets from the petstores and not the dubias I keep were at the vets!!! I told her this and she called the petstore. Come to find out half of the crix had been dumped out, re-caught and put back in the sale tub, and almost the whole colony was now DEAD!! They had ingest either rat or ant poisoning, I can't remember I was in shock! So she says basically it was poison, food poison in away. Then the lowest blow of all, she said Hersey and Dolly needed to be euthinized! Hersey mouth was slack and he was gasping for air, and so bloated I thought he was going to pop! I gave him and Dolly a kiss, told them I loved them and started bauling like a baby! I gave the vet assistant my nod and she took my two suffering babies out of the room. The rest of my babies are struggling and will be staying at the vets till they are better. Their breathing is really rough, especially Geiko's. I worry about him the most because he has been compromised do to his MBD! The vet was talking about putting him or all in an o2 tank. I don't have pictures at this time but will post some when I can.

Rest in peace my lil ones! I loved you and you brought me great joy and happiness!

I can't believe this, I feel numb but like a failure at the same time.

I'll probably edit this several times due to the fact I'm doimh this on my phone and still in shock. I'll keep you updated on what happens.
