    Welcome to Pangea!

Your degree sounds really interesting. I know a girl from my high school is going to Friends as well for the same degree.

The okapi are well! I'm not sure what information you last heard, but we have Epulu, a baby boy born a little while back, and hopefully another pregnant female (fingers crossed)

I'm a little (lot) late but HI DREW!!! We're just going to keep running into one another, it's destiny. Now I'm off to email you. Welcome to Pangea.

Edit: Had to add - Okapi are teh awesomez. They are so soft, and the babies may be the cutest baby animals of all time (and that's saying something coming from me)! Their giraffe tongues aren't half bad either. I think they are underrated animals, because seriously, teh awesomez.

Welcome to the forums, we hope you like it here. Sounds like you have quite the collection of animals. Be prepared to want more crested geckos after spending time here.

Fiyero and Boq can be seen here:

And I can't decide yet. I've spent over a year volunteering with the gorillas and okapi, but I really like herps (as evidenced in my personal collection). I'd take any animal keeping job, but birds would probably be my last choice. No that I dislike birds, but I would rather do mammals or herps.

    Introductions

I've been part of the forum for a few days now without really introducing myself. I am a Zoo Science student at Friends University in Wichita, Ks. I work at Sedgwick Co Zoo in several capacities including as a grounds keeper, a clerk for one of the offices, and as a practicum student. I am also head of the animal collection at Friends for the Zoo Science Club. I currently have several pets, including my two new crested geckos, a 1.3 breeding group of mice, a snake, a tiger salamander, and a Columbian tegu.
I started taking an interest in the field of animal care when I was in 8th grade. I got to go to a (different) zoo and was able to be in the same room during a snow leopard physical. I was there, holding the tail of the leopard, stroking his side. I started volunteering at that zoo, then came to Friends to pursue their Zoo Science degree. I've had everything from love birds and leopard geckos to my (almost 1 1/2 year old) tegu.

Do you guys have any other questions for or about me? I'd love to answer them.
