So a friend of mine is getting a bunch of inverts soon and is going to give me 2 young giant African land snails! These will be my first inverts that I've owned so why not start off with a giant snail(or 2)! Does anyone have any tips or anything I should know about keeping them?

I know they're illegal to keep in the US. I would check your Canadian laws to be sure that you're not violating any....Kelly @ Tree Devil Geckos

They are legal but cannot be taken out of the country as Canada is so cold that they would die off in the winter so the chance of the species becoming invasive is nearly impossible. But in other countries they are invasive so that's why they cannot be imported or exported but ones bred/raised here are okSam

Yeah, I assumed they were. Sometimes the bans on certain animals doesn't make sense but I'd rather not break the law. LOLKelly @ Tree Devil Geckos

I really don't understand these laws against certain animals. Like you said the sails would die off in winter in canada. and even here in the USA some places Like where i live for example, Get WAY too cold for them to survive long enough to become invasive. But sadly it is the a law (A stupid one nevertheless)
