All I know about them is that they are quite fragile so handling is not an option.

Yea I read they are pretty fragile, I was thinking about getting into leopard geckos as well, and although the temperature needs are different, people they say they are similar to leos just a little harder to keep. So I was thinking about moving to them gradually. I just love the way they look though!

they're VERY different than leos. Much smaller, hide a lot more, and require very high humidity, and lower temps. I own a relative of the chinese caves, the japanese cave or Goniurosaurus orientalis. I wouldn't say they're extremely hard, just have particular needs. The only way they're like leos at all is just that they're in the same subfamily of Eublepharinae which are the eyelid geckos. If you're just starting out though i'd suggest sticking with the more common geckos and work your way up as you succeed with keeping the simpler ones. Rhacodactylus is a good group, as are the leos, fat tails, and even frog eyes aren't hard as they're hardy and good feeders despite not being good for handling.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I may not get one of these, and if I do it will be a long time from now, I just think they are so cool looking.
