  • New gecko feeding

just got my leopard gecko about 3 days ago and he was very active and exploring lots the first day but now he seems to only be in his hide and I haven’t seen him come out. I’ve read that this is very normal, but I put in 2 small crickets to see if maybe he wanted to eat but he’s stayed in the hide. Is leaving the crickets in there a bad idea? As they’re quite hard to get out without making more noise and stressing him out more!

technically you shouldn't leave prey items in over night. but I found that the geckos can get away from the crickets if they are bothering them. I think it is safe enough to leave them in there. my last gecko never ate anything and I had crickets in there forever.
