  • My new dart viv

I finally put together my new frog vivarium. It's a 24x18x24 Exo Terra and houses 4 D. leucomela. It took me a several weeks to make the waterfall. I'm very happy with how it turned out.

    Waterfall foam structure.

    Vivarium.

              Thank you guys!!

Well I started with packing foam and a hot glue gun. I cut and glued it into the shape I wanted. Next covered foam with a few layers of cement. Then added some layers of grout. The grout was easier to work with and shape. Should have just started with the grout. Oh I lowed the pH of the cement using vinegar and water mixture. Sprayed it and rinsed it several times. That was only needed for the cement. Not needed with grout I don't think. I painted after the grout was dry. That was the most fun part. Especially doing a dry brush technique to add the rock looking texture and moss. Then I sealed it with a non VOC grout sealer (as non-toxic as I could find at Home Depot). Last I used aquarium grade silicone in the areas where water would be constantly sitting. Setting up the waterfall with the pump was a bit of a pain in the ass, but it all worked out! Not perfect, but much better than my first viv build.

Wow, that is amazing! Do you have any pictures of how you set-up the plumbing and pump system for the terrarium? Do you have pictures to show more of a step-by step process? You did an amazing job.
