S. ciliaris is one of the most patterned species in the Strophurus group. These Australian native geckos grow to about 6.5" - 7" total length. Individuals can be housed in a 12x12x18" enclosure, but a larger arboreal enclosure will allow for a more appropriate heat gradient allowing the gecko to thermoregulate. Decorate the enclosure with lots of thin branches and fake plants to provide lots of structure to climb on, bask, and plenty of hiding spaces. Temperatures should range from 70-90 F. The basking area should be between 85-90 F. Lightly misting the enclosure a few times a week will keep these guys hydrated, but providing a shallow water dish is still a good idea. We feed 6-8 1/4" dusted crickets a minimum of 4 days a week. Crickets are dusted with calcium 3x per week and dusted with a multi vitamin 1x per week. This species should be kept only by the more advanced keepers.
