Wow, what species is that in the first 2 pics? I'm just starting to get into day geckos--got a 1.3 Phelsuma lineata bombetokensis coming in on wednesday. Any pointers on Phelsuma in general?

The first two pics are P.breviceps,my personel favorite. The only advice I can give is keep them warm and keep an eye out for eggs. With all the different species of Phelsuma I'm surprised not more people work with them.I finally have the room for them and I plan on going all out.BOBBY

Yep. We did a trade. I sent him a subadult male gargoyle (due there any minute now) and I'm getting the 1.3--not too bad of a trade since I've got too many males anyway.

Thanks for the advice, I'm finishing up some vert 10g today and have to go get some bamboo for them to lay in (since this species apparently won't lay in anything else). Yeah, it's a shame that there isn't more people working with them, phelsuma that is--I think most hobbyist like to have something they can handle when they want to, and we all know phelsuma isn't the best to fit that bill.
You know what Bobby, there is another species (non-phelsuma), that reminds me, or at least the females do, of breviceps. If you ever get a chance, look up Gonotodes albogularis fuscus (yellow-headed gecko) and find a pic of a female.

I'm familiar with Gonatodes albogularis, and they don't really look alot like P.breviceps, breviceps are much more stout and have a very short head.Gonatodes is a very cool species and I'm planning on getting a couple of species this year,G.albogularis,G.vittatus,and any other sp. I can get a hold of.I have a bunch of P.brevicep eggs cooking right now so if your interested let me know.BOBBY
