    Red face Vivarium Start-Up.

    Hello!
Over the next few months I want to convert my crestie's enclosure to a live Vivarium. Where should I start? What are some good websites/stores to gather supplies at? What arw some good websites to learn how to make a vivarium? Approximately how much does it coat for all the necessary supplies to start a vivarium, including the price of an appropriate light? What kind of maintenance and cleaning is necessary for a vivarium?
    Thanks!

Check out blackjungle.com to get basic info about making the drainage layer so things work well. The most expensive purchase will be the light fixture and that won't be too terrible, maybe $25-40, but possibly less. You can get a good grow light from a hydroponics store. Once you get things set up with drainage, plants, isopods for cleaning and light, in my opinion there is no cleaning and very little maintenance necessary.

Where will you put your crestie in the meantime? It might be hard to gradually convert to a live planted tank. Usually people do it all at once. And itís recommended that you let it acclimate and cycle for a month or two, then add your gecko.

Thank you guys! I don't have anything that I can keep her in while I set up the vivarium besides a large critter keeper. Should I not go foward with making a vivarium then?
