    Default F10 Disinfectant

I bought a small bottle of the F10 disinfectant (http://www.pangeareptile.com/store/f...infectant.html), and somehow managed to misplace the instructions. Why are there two sections and two caps to it? I mixed it with water 1:50 for cleaning, but wondering about this now...are there two separate liquids in the bottle that I need to mix or something? It doesn't say on the bottle itself.

    http://www.kellysolutions.com/erenew...0_24_39_AM.pdf Does this help?

I don't use this so I honestly have no idea. Although it does look like a measuring in the 'middle' section.

Thanks for sending. I have it saved for future use.

It really doesn't say anything about mixing, so I'm still not sure about the 2nd cap. Maybe I'll have to write them directly from their website. It's possible that is some type of measurement aid.

The small cap is indeed for measuring. You squeeze the amount you need in to it, then pour it out. Just dilute with water. I use disposable pipettes like these for small volumes though since my spray bottles only hold about 500ml:

(Amazon link in case it looks suspicious)

Where did you get the 1:50 dilution? That seems high. Looks like the dilution for the avian version (F10 CL).

I bought the same product as sold on the Pangea page (F10 SC/veterinary disinfectant). I've been using it at 1:250 for normal cage cleaning as per this page:

    (scroll down to F10 SC)

Wrote Pangea, here's the response (thanks Eli!):

The smaller of the 2 compartments is a measuring container. If you squeeze the larger compartment with the caps on, it will inject F10 into the smaller part “dispensing chamber” so that you can measure it before diluting in water. It’s pretty nifty
