    Default I'm just excited

After a year of this guy growing and a month of trying to get the two to, you know, I finally have a fertile egg from this pair.

Congrats!! Both are very beautiful and I bet the babies will be too. Hopefully you'll keep us posted and we can see the kiddos once they hatch.

Egg number one hatched last night.
Actually got to see it happen for the first time so that was cool.

Edit- Cannot figure out how to get a higher quality photo up on my phone and it doesn’t seem to like the new iPhone photo format.

A question for those of you with more experience than I have with hatchlings.
I've read they can have a red color to them that fades within a couple weeks.
If you've experienced this, the question is does this red look like the kind that fades in a couple weeks?

P.S. Look how much dripping is going on as a fresh hatchling!

He is adorable ! Any names yet? That does look like the average "baby rust".

Not very good with names. Just have fun raising them and hope that they like looking at me as much as I like looking at them.

Hoping it’s more than the average rust but you’re probably right. The male was supposed to be red but just didn’t really grow up to be red. Thought maybe with it in his parents it could still come out in his babies

He's very cute! Congrats on your new addition!

I think you'd have to wait til he gets older to be able to tell what the "final" colors will be. In the meantime, just enjoy, I know you will.
