    Default The Box turtle crew.

They all got their pictures taken the other day just after they finished their pool time, so were nice and shiny.

First up is Royce, my big male. He is a fantastic escape artiste but knock on wood, after the third remodel to the turtle pen, he seems unable to get out now.

Next is my big female, Nyssa. She's around 21-22 years old.

And last but not least, Dag. He's a little male with some old damage to his shell. Don't tell the others but he's probably my favorite.

Royce looks like he has a little extra beak going on there. If it starts causing him problems with eating you may need to take him the the vet to get it filed down a bit.

That aside. They are beautiful turtle. They are native in this area and I've helped several across the road around here but I've never seen ones that look quite like yours.

I had a box turtle and a spiny hill turtle years ago. Loved them.
