Question HELP! My gargoyle gecko just laid eggs for the first time

    Hello
I have a 2.5-year-old female gargoyle gecko who just laid two unfertile eggs today. I immediately removed them from the terrarium. Is that ok? Do I need to adjust her diet now that she is laying eggs? She has not been eating a lot lately.
    Thanks

Sometimes when the gecko is ovulating or about to lay the appetite decreases. Just keep offering and try not to worry. removing the eggs was the right thing to do.

You may want to try bumping up the calcium a little bit to compensate for making shells.

I find that female geckos don't eat much when they are about to lay because the eggs take up a lot of space inside their abdomens. Their stomachs get squished. As soon as they've laid, though, they are very hungry!
