    Default 24 x 18 x 24 Exo-Terra Bio-active cork-bark background Crested Gecko terrarium Build

I got the tank for Christmas, then started gathering materials around February. I started with a silicone layer.Name: CIMG8430.jpg

    I ordered the cork-bark, then I moved on to cork-bark and Great Stuff.Name: CIMG8637.jpg

I used balloons to keep the Great Stuff out of the net pots and a string to keep the cork bark in place.Name: CIMG8650.jpg

I started cutting the Great Stuff to shape.Name: CIMG8660.jpg

I chose not to cut any of the Great Stuff that was within the bottom 5 inches of the tank as it's covered by the dirt and drainage layer.Name: CIMG8664.jpg

Then 2 weeks later after I ordered the cork-bark, they sent me another shipment of cork-bark, a duplicate order of what I had already received. (At this point i was pretty baffled!) I checked if they had deducted the money out of my PayPal for the second order; they hadn't, so I contacted them and they said that I could keep the second order of cork-bark!!

So with the extra cork-bark that i didn't need, I thought "why not make the background go further on the sides, too?" so I extended the silicone further on the sides.Name: CIMG8673.jpg

Then I cut the Great Stuff to shape.(sorry no pictures.)
Next was the tedious process of siliconing the Eco-earth and peat moss mix to the Great Stuff.Name: CIMG8909.jpg

I added the drainage layer, screen divider, isopods, springtails, leave cover, plants, light, and moss.

The plants I used are: 1 snake plant, 2 bromeliads, 1 rock fern, and 1 golden pothos.

The mixture I used for the substrate is: 1 part moss, 1 part jungle mix, 1.5 parts Repti-bark, 1.5 part Eco-earth, and 1 cup of rinsed activated carbon.
