    Default NEW PET

Yesterday I got a juvenile Fowler's Toad. At school we were allowed to go outside and let energy out because of state testing. I saw a kid bouncing the toad 3 feet in air with a frisbee continuously. Then the kid stopped and just walked away but I couldn't find the toad. I went back to playing football with my friends and one ran on top of the toad. I picked the toad up and held it for 45 minutes till it was time to go back inside. I put him inside my lunch box and he stayed in there for 2 hours. After getting home my mother started laughing when I told her a toad was in my lunch box. Tomorrow my brother is getting two baby turtles!! Just figured I'd share my weird story of acquiring a new pet.

    P.S. by juvenile I mean like a 1 1/4 inches

Some kids can be so mean to animals. I'm glad you had compassion for the toad.

    Yes, I agree with TAD.
I've had to save multiple snakes and frogs over the years from middle school boys and from people my own age.
I don't really get how you can harm an animal (or anything for that matter) and be okay with it. It puzzles me to this day.
I am happy for you though! I hope your toad lives a long and happy life!

P.S. My mom probably wouldn't have believed me if I told her it was in my lunch bag.
And she probably would have freaked. The woman is scared of lady bugs.

How did she end up with you??! LOL
My mom was never crazy about all the critters I brought home either. She never understood why I wanted to play pet store rather than with dolls.

    Yes!!!
I always wanted to play pet store and vet. Never with dolls but with stuffed animals.
She is okay with Gobi (my Crested Gecko) although she refuses to touch him. Ha ha ha.
Sometimes I would chase her around the house with him.
