Cool My Gargoyle Gecko is here!!!

(I made a new thread because the other one is WAY down there somewhere, ha ha ha)

    Hey everybody!
So, he is finally here! He was dropped off just about an hour ago and is settling in well.
There were no problems with the drop-off and he arrived in one piece!

Everything is fine and okay, I only have one question...

Ever since he arrived he has been sneezing. Not one after the other just every now and then. I have Crested Geckos and it sounds just like their sneeze. Not serious or anything just a sneeze. The only thing bothering me, is that he keeps sneezing. I gave him water (he was thirsty) but just keeps licking his nose and sneezing. It is not covered and does not have food on it or in it or anything but he keeps sneezing. I was just wondering as none of my other geckos' do this. Should I be worried or is this just a habit..? it sounds really cute but I am worried...

    Thanks!

Very handsome guy! Now it is my turn to be jealous, because yours is big enough to handle and not take off on you! (We have work to do, lol)

No clue on the sneezing. That would make me think there is something small stuck somewhere in his nose or throat. Hopefully he will blow it out and be fine.

Sneezing ?? It maybe just with his journey & all things have irritated his nasal passages.
I would keep a watch next 24 hours.
Perhaps contact seller to check if they think this is typical behaviour for him or a new phenomenon, sneezing very frequently is not normal behaviours for geckos.
Would make sure you have strick quarantine if possible keep him in a different room to the others. Not wishing to alert you but it he has some sort of respiratory illness/infection you don't want your other guys to get it.
If no sign of settling over a few days he probably should see a vet.
However if things get worse & or you can hear wheezing see vet sooner. Hopefully this should not be necessary & it's all to do with his transit in getting to you.
He is a lovely looking guy.
Can't help but like the name with my Chahoua being called Oak!
Hope things turn out fine with him.

    Thanks!
Yes, he fits the name Oakley perfectly in my opinion. He is really chill and sweet.
It seems to have stopped. He has no signs of wheezing or having any issues breathing. I did move him as a precaution.
Again, he seems perfectly fine now. I think it may have been the paper towel in his travel tub/kritter keeper... He did have quite the drive so I think it may have irritated him to some extent. I will monitor him for the next bit. He is quarantine anyways as he is a new gecko.
Can I get a definite on his morph..? Wasn't too sure...

Hi I always find confirming morphs with gargoyles quite difficult especially with breeding so often occurring out of specific lines.
Pictures also can be misleading rather than in the flesh.

However I do not think he is a simple reticulated gargoyle.
I am unable to see from the pictures clearly if the banding goes around the gecko or it his side's are plain.
If bands go all the way around I would opt for simply banded reticulated.
However if not I would go for banded reticulated with the Alterna morph, these usually have uniform background colour/ having rows of thin wavy black bars, can have plain sides.
I think seeing these pictures he is less likely to be mosaic.

Please bare in mind this is just my opinion & I don't claim to be an expert in gargoyle morphs.
I am always learning & would be interested in opinions & rationales for other suggestions to his morph.
Whichever morph he is he one georgous gargoyle.

    Hi how's Oakley settling in?
    Have the sneezes stayed away?

Yes, lol, they have. He has made himself at home. Trust me.
He thinks he is the king in of my room, ha ha ha. He just has this attitude that he doesn't want to be messed with.
He is surprisingly sweet though and the few times I have held him (to clean his tank) he loved to be out of it and roaming around.
He is a great first gargoyle and I am super duper happy with him!

That's great news. Their different personalities are part of what makes them such cool geckos. I have one who is fine to hold but if she decides that she wants to take one particular route there is no stopping her she will just do what she wants & no convincing otherwise even if it has to be the most difficult one. My others are pretty chilled & she can be as long as it's going her way!

I am looking forward to when I can take him out daily and chill with him in the future!
He just has to finish acclimating first... Ha ha ha.
