Default a little about this.... forum family.

hi! I thought it would be nice to know some things about the everyday users.

I already know some of your guys names and a few other basics, but were family here. if you dont wanna share, then dont.

Hi, Im Kat. Im 15 years old. (16 in April!!). Im 5'8/9ish. Im a blonde with blue colored eyes. I have anxiety, depression and I also, um yeah... I own 3 cresties, 5 dogs, 2 turtles, 3 cats and 1 pig. I have 5 sisters and 1 brother. Im the youngest girl, but my bro is younger then me. Im "quite" people say. but people just dont talk to me so Im not gonna talk to them. PLus I have no friends or social life and have no clue what interests people lol. Im brutally honest. like, if I dont like you, youre gonna know. If I like you (like wanna marry you lol) then youre gonna know. I tell you the truth. like I said, Im brutally honest. My DREAM job is the BAU( behavioral analysis unit in the FBI). BUT, I doubt Ill ever do that. my other dream things to do is 1. Navy Seal. 2. Pediatric DR. 3. SVU detective. I also want to take in unwanted and uncared for animals. like, pigs that were taken in as little "bottle babies" and they get to big, or I want to rescue feeder pigs and cows. just take in unwanted animals.
I enjoy photography and drawing and writing and reading. and I LOVE LOVE LOVE cold weaher and snow. I hate the hot summer. I prefer to stay home and alone rather then in a group.
I have previously owned, cates, dogs, lizards, frogs, turtles, snakes, dogs, cats, birds, a squirrel, rats, mice, tarantulas, snail, mantids, fish. I will someday own, Belgian Malinois, Australian Shepherd, Blood Hound, Thai Ridgeback, cirneco dell'etna Leachies, more Cresties, BRB, Ball Pythons, Reticulated Python, Red Tail Boa, Chewies, Gargs, Iguanas, Mini Pigs and a Red Wattle Pig and Kune Kune Pig, Horses, cows and other farm animals and quite a few more reptiles and mammals, to many to list.
if you guys would like to know anything else, just let me know.

and a little poem that I wrote : Searching for you was a nightmare. Finding you was a dream. Loving you was a fairytale. Losing you was reality. Letting you go was the killer. You are my breath, you are my beat that is in my chest. when I said goodbye, I had sudden cardiac arrest. thank you for laugh, thank you for love. If I ever see you again, will you remember our song?"

This is actually a really cool thing to do, I'll definitely pitch in.

I'm Nova, I'm 16, my birthday is December 10th. I'm a girl with the lightest blond hair and Iceberg blue eyes (which everyone always has to comment on). I wear glasses, I'm 5'9 and have sever depression, all kinds of anxiety, and a bit of ADHD(you know I've had a bad day if I ramble on and on in a reply or a post)
I have 4 friends and no siblings. I live in Canada (and it's too friggen cold here)
I currently own 6 crested geckos (2 adults, 3 babies I produced and one I bought) 3 leopard geckos and getting another one soon (which will make 2 males, 2 females) and 3 siamese fighting fish (bettas) of different kinds.

I'm a small scale hobby breeder of crested geckos and soon, leopard geckos and I plan on getting quite a bit larger with breeding cresteds once I've got the space and a job lol.
I'm not very athletic(though I am 30 pounds underweight(I'm not anorexic, I eat like a cow but I just don't gain weight)) and in really shy and quiet, I'm pretty patient but I do have some anger issues.
My dream job is to be a wildlife biologist and to travel the world saving and documenting animals. I've owned reptiles for 13 years (got a baby German giant bearded dragon who was put down just last year, as my first reptile)
That's all I guess, not the most interesting but meh.

Sure I'll join in on this haha.

Jennifer, 24 yrs old (birthday 12/24, yipyip), current resident of California. Been caring for Crested Geckos and my Gargoyle Gecko for 4 years now (entering my 5th year now in 2017). Used to go to college then quit when I realized what a waste of money it was for me (I'm not a good student. School doesn't hold my interest outside of art so my grades are average or sucky). I do digital art, and after I purchase my bird's new cage and supplies, I'll be saving up for a Cintiq 13HD (good bye 800$) because my current tablet likes to throw fits and be an overall pain.

I'm a chubby monkey with the slowest metabolism anyone has probably ever seen so some sexy alone time in the gym couldn't hurt, but with my current job (night shifts as a Blackjack dealer at the local Casino) its hard to find personal time. I plan to start breeding in 2018 when my boyfriend and I have secured a house with space for it (yay for personal office). Our current plan is to move to Nevada where he can further his career in the Casino business and I can open a pet store at some point (it will mainly be a supply store at first, all the reptiles in the store will be from MY OWN stock, so cresties, gargs, abronias, and BRB babies will be the reptiles I sell there, and when I find a good fish breeder, I'll open a fish section cus I love fish too).

I don't beat around the bush with people, so some probably think of me as an asshat, but when someone asks me a stupid question they should already know, I'm ganna tell it like it is. This is especially true for people who decide to adopt/buy an animal, then come out and ask a question they SHOULD know the answer to, like... what to feed them. Yes... I've seen PLENTY of those questions... it infuriates me. And questions that should be common sense... those too. I'm generally a nice person, but my 'resting B face' scares a lot of people away usually LOL. I'm actually quite the fuddy duddy of giggles and unicorn dust. I enjoy helping people, but I HATE relying on people (I hated group projects in school). I also have a problem where instead of talking about my emotions I bottle them all up until I explode later over the littlest of things. I'm very emotional, and hate yelling... so whenever someone yells at me I cry like a baby. I get frustrated easily too, again... cry. I'm weird. lol

Uhmmm yeah, as for pets, I have 4 geckos (3 cresties, 1 garg), a cat, and a parrot. My BF will be getting a beardie mid Jan, so i'm well versed in the care of that species in order to help him out.

In the future, I plan to acquire 1 more garg (male, for garg babies) a pair of abronia alligator lizards, a pair of Brazilian Rainbow Boas, an Ibizan Hound (my fav dog), fish (cus I love fish, specifically Pictus Catfish, and a Bichir), and my BF wants a German Shepard. So we'll have our own little zoo hehehe.

I'll jump in too, because it's really nice to "meet" you all!

I'm Eileen, I'm 62 years old, been married for 42 of those years. 5'4", medium build, not athletic, long brown hair, green eyes. Tattoos. Retirement not on the horizon yet...I live on a 5-acre farmette in east-central Wisconsin. I've lived in Wisconsin all my life, but we moved from the city to the farm 25 years ago and love it here. We have a lot of wildlife around, which we love. I have two grown kids, and 5 grandkids; my son lives in town and I see him and his family regularly. My daughter moved to Florida several years ago with her then-husband, and I get to visit her and her other family now and again.

I work full-time as a secretary for a residential care center for at-risk youth; have been there 15 years. My previous job was in customer service for 27 years. So I am a pretty steady, reliable person. I'd like to retire one of these days, but bills and medical costs for my husband, and maintenance for this old farmhouse, have kind of put that on the back burner for now.

I've had a lot of animals over the years - dogs (always), cats, turtles, a rat, mice, iguanas, anoles, goats...currently we have three rescue dogs - an ancient golden retriever (14) with cancer, who is blind and deaf and whose back legs don't work - a total sweetheart who probably won't be with us much longer, an old cattle dog (13) in pretty good shape, although she also has cancer; and a total whacko rat terrier/cattle dog mix (we call her a rattledog) who is two years old and is the most challenging, crazy dog we've ever had, but my husband loves her, so she stays. *sigh* We also have 3 very tame barn cats - two of them ancient, one with thyroid issues & currently on meds. And TAD, who I am loving right now for low-maintenance, low-cost, interesting critter reasons. I hope to get a garg this coming spring or summer, and that's really all I want. Don't need a collection, and not looking to breed. At my age, I need to start down-sizing, but I can't see my life without an animal of some sort. Hopefully they will allow reptiles at the retirement home, LOL.

My dream job was to have an old dog sanctuary someday. But who am I kidding, that someday is now, and I have two old dogs whose "care and maintenance" take up a lot of my non-work day. I have a LOT of patience, thank goodness, and am usually happiest when I am caring for something.

I love these forums that are helpful and not judgmental. I moderate a cattle dog forum much like this one (had been involved in rescue for many years, but kind of backing off a bit now), but we also try to keep it friendly and helpful, and I really appreciate that about this forum as well.

It is nice to meet you all!

Very nice to know more about all of you!

I'm Sasha, 39 years young and single mom of two awesome kiddos (9 and 12). I'm a solid introvert, but have been "well-socialized" over the years - as a teen I was quite shy and sensitive even into my 20s. I think having kids really forced me to suck up and deal with things that otherwise would have been hard as I had to put them first over myself, and not much fazes me now, lol. I consider myself pretty patient most of the time and like to help others.

Grew up in Hawaii with chickens, a goose, goats, dog, cats, and house geckos. Got my vet tech degree (would have gotten higher degree if not for $$), worked at an emergency hospital for a bit, then went into the Army (yes, you can be a tech there ) and stationed in Germany where both my kids were born. Got out and came back to the states, and after leaving my husband realized after a few hard years that as much as I loved being a tech, it is impossible to support a family alone on that income. So, went back to school (I love learning, would be lifetime student if I could!) and got some more bio degrees and currently am a research assistant in a molecular biology lab working on metabolic and chronic disease (gene expression, protein stuff, etc) as a PhD student in biosciences. While I'm working with human stuff right now, it would be cool to move to animal work again! Sometimes I wonder if I could "accidentally" do some next-gen genome sequencing on a sample from one of my cresties...you know for teaching purposes, lol.

In addition to my childhood pets, I have had more cats (was so sad when the cat I first got as an adult passed 2 years ago at the ripe age of 18), ball python, parrots, rats, freshwater fish, mantids, cresties, leachies, and chewies. Though no parrots or rats currently. And my daughter is asking for a jumping spider for a pet so might add that in soon. As hobbies I have dabbled in spinning and knittng, used to play the piano for many years and taught myself the guitar, enjoy old-school RPG computer games and minecraft, and love to read. In addition to geckos and nerdy biology things as what occupies most of my time nowadays aside from my kids, I am also a competitive powerlifter and most of my "me" time is spent in the gym.

Very cool to hear some of the interesting backgrounds and just more of the person behind the screennames of the great members here

What an awesome thread! It's cool to know more about everyone

I'm Erica, I'm a 16 year old girl! I've had/have anxiety as well, so I can sympathize. DX I like roleplaying/acting/improv and things like that that involve playing a different character and collaborating with others to weave stories. I'm the kind of person who looks at high quality live-action roleplay swords and things and wants them, but knows that none of the neighbor kids my age would ever deign to be seen pretend-swordfighting anymore xD I love humor, I live on inside jokes and memes lol.

I live within driving distance of Chicago, which is good because 1) Pokéstops 2) Tinley Park (for reptile shows) and 3) I like snow/winter but I also like summer, and we get both here

I also love writing—mainly fictional stuff UNLESS it happens to be about cresties. I love drawing both digitally and on paper (Mechanical8Dragon, I've heard good things about the Cintiq! I still have a 5-6 year old Bamboo Fun tablet but I'm happy with that for now ) and animating little short things (both 2D and 3D), and OF COURSE also really LOVE CRESTIES—they are just such great dragonblobs. Animals are so wonderful. <3

Wow, you all have a ton of pets that's super neat!! I mean I have those self-enclosed-ecosystem shrimp since I was like 6?? In addition to that, I have Nandatil (Nani for short), my good geck I got five years ago when I was 11. I've loved reptiles for the majority of my life. It started with dinosaurs, then it spread to dragons and other reptiles, and I'd love people to do more studies/research into reptile intelligence, since they seem to be a ton smarter than people realize. I'm happy with just one gecko because I want to be able to give her all my attention!

Dream job? Hah. I have a lot.
    Here's my "plan":
Step 1. Go to New Caledonia and study geck behavior
Step 2. Write a book, a fictional one, but based upon reality (similar to Guardians of Ga'hoole, the series about owls) based on my findings on cresties.
Step 3. Get this book turned into a Pixar movie
Step 4. Direct the movie, but also character-design for the movie, but also animate for the movie

    and um yeah xD

Wow. I'm surprised at how much of your personal information you are all willing to share on this forum!

I'm younger than Eileen, older than the rest of you, already have a PhD and that's all I'm going to say here.

Well I am still relatively new to The Forum and can't say I really know any of you yet LOL. But heck why not share little bit of info about myself. My name is Daniel I'm a 26 year old white male, 5'9" and 180lb. I have thinning dark brown hair and almost black eyes. (I'm sure that will help you pic me out of a crowd lol.

@Last_Creature I also suffer with bad depression quite frequently and do similarly when I'm feeling down. I've even tried to commit suicide once (don't do that, trust me on that one) so if you ever need someone to talk to send me a PM on here and I'll do what I can to help even if it's just listen.

Which brings up an interesting fact I have taken several psychology and sociology classes even know they have nothing to do with me major because I thought they would help me lol.

OK back on topic... I was going to join the military and tried three times but due to medical issues I could not and have now been permanently disqualified due to my Crohn's. Speaking of Crohn's I am an ostomate sporting a beautiful (that may be a stretch lol) ileostomy and gave birth to a 5-pound colon a little over a year ago.

I live in the mountains of TN within the USA and am a proud American citizen. Although I'd love to visit the entirety of the planet if I had the chance.

I am currently going to college and trying to figure out what I want to do. I'm a chemical engineering major a the moment but I have been though several major changes over the past 5 years (I have had to drop out several time due to medical problems). Those Majors include marine biology, nuclear engineering, teacher education with a concentration in physics and Mathematics, and Leslie engineering general which changed into chemical engineering. Which is funny because my least favorite science is chemistry lol L. I have an IQ of 184 but can't spell worth a dime and sound like a redneck hillbilly from one of the mountain reality shows that you see on TV now. I'm also a first generation college student in my family.

My dream job is one that I am happy in making enough money to live on. I know that's not all that interesting but that's all I really want... Well other that a family some day down the road.

Speaking of family I was engaged at the beginning of the year... Last year I can't believe it's 2017 already. But after I started having to where an ostomy bag I guess she decided she could no longer see a future with me. I have one sister that is 9 years my senior and she has two children that I love to death. She is a tattoo artist and I have a couple that she has done. My father and I built my house together from scratch ourselves. (which I see as one of my greatest accomplishments) He is a carpenter and a minister.

Pets. I currently have three leopard geckos, one eyelash crested gecko, 9 chickens, 2 Easter painted turtles, 5 telescope eye goldfish, and one adorable puppy named Sparky.

I've also had bearded dragons, dart frogs, snails, peafowl, cats, numerous fish, a snake (he escaped and was never seen again), and I'm probably missing a few lol... Oh I had a goat. OK that was random... Moving on.

A few random facts about me. I know Taekwondo, I love to fish, I love going hiking, I don't watch TV, I work in a manufacturing plant, my favorite color is blue and green and any combination thereof, oh and lastly I'm on another forum a lot (not sure if I'm allowed to post a link or not) but it's Koko's goldfish forum. It's a really nice place if you are looking for goldfish care or just fish care in general.

Oh and here is a few pics because why not.
