Lightbulb New idea for hides: shells!

Seeing as New Caledonia is an island, I thought a shell might make a good gecko hide. I bought a large whelk shell at a second hand store for $3. A 46 gram adult male crestie is sleeping in it right now. (It took him about a week to get used to the shell in his tank, and he has other hides, but clearly the shell is now an acceptable place to sleep).

Interesting! I hadn't thought to use a shell as a hide!

That sounds really neat, would love to see pics! Only thing I would get worried about is if they are in a hide that I can't "extract" them from just in case of some emergency. But I guess you can just take his shell along, lol.
