    Default Fire bellied toads

I'm thinking of getting a few, I think I have some basics of care down, but I'm wondering if anyone else has any of these dudes and what their experience is with them?

I'd love to see enclosure pictures as well!

So, I've got a terrarium setup. Judging by the the replies (nil lmao) I might be the only person on this forum keeping these guys. Hoping to get 2 fire bellies by Tuesday

The water isn't in yet, but here's the layout:

    In here I have:

Exo terra turtle pebbles aquatic substrate
Two pieces of mopani wood, layered to create a bank
    Some exo terra forest moss
    Exo terra fake duckweed
    Exo terra medium sized ficus
    Repticlear filter f150

The terrarium itself is the zoo med naturalistic terrarium, 12x12x12.

What's the wattage of that bulb? With the cage being so small the toads could easily overheat or be burned by the light if in the open for too long, of its a uvb bulb then it's OK but yeah, just a little warnong just incase

No bulb yet for this exact reason! I'll likely put a low wattage uvb bulb in and I think I'll be investing in a space heater to maintain room temp in my room, since cresties and these dudes do best around 70-75.

I'm considering an under-tank heating mat until I do get the space heater, but they do make me a bit nervous as a lot of them are quite high wattage and the last thing I want is for the toads to overheat.

Just an update on these guys (who will be coming home tomorrow), I've decided against the under tank heater as it's not recommended with water features/aqua-terrariums. For now they will have a 13w uvb bulb and within the week I'll be getting a space heater. The small bulb keeps the tank at a solid 70, so good enough until I can heat the room.

    Expect pictures tomorrow night!

    The toads have arrived!

They goth two crickets each and seemed full up, so now theyre adjusting to their new digs.

Meet Malgus and Morgoth. Malgus being the lighter green one!
