    Default Plastic Decor Question

My mom found a plastic Buddha statue at the dollar that has a stone look to it but its plastic. Says its for garden decor. I was wondering if i clean this up real good and let it soak several times, could this possibly be tank safe? I hated too tell her I think its crap, If i cant use it i will just put him on my reptile shelf i guess lol. I know using unknown plastics is not good, but i do use plastic ashtrays for water dishes, pvc pipe for perches, and plastic plants. So I am stumped on this one.

Does anything rub off on it? The main concern I would have is paints or dyes leaching off or toxic metals. You might be able to put epoxy coating or aquarium safe sealant on it to seal any bad stuff inside. Be sure it dries for several days according to directions.
