No reason why not, but they do well in room temps, will multiply rapidly with now extra help.

I'm using a cable to heat my colony of discoids. Apparently discoids breed better at a higher temperature. I keep the colony in a plastic tub. The heat tape is taped to the outside bottom of the tub, using metal electrical tape. I glued pill vials to the bottom of the tub as "legs" so that the heat tape doesn't touch the floor underneath. So far, no fried roaches and no holes melted through the tub.
