    Default 2 Questions

    1. How long is a 5 month old crested gecko.

    2. Are males or females easier to handle?

I have a 900 gallon terrarium that has LOTS live plants, 2 pools of water and a fogger and is set up on a timer for 12 hours of daylight and 12 hrs. night. The temp. stays 85-86 degrees am and 70-72 degrees pm. Will this be okay for a crestie?

LMAO ... I would live in that terrarium also ... and yes makes no difference if male/ female.... usually the more they are handled throughout their lives they are calmer.... but it depends on the gecko.

One, it is an individual gecko's growth that sets that, two, definitely no gender difference, just individual personality difference, and three, I think your terrarium sounds awesome but it is probably a little too warm for cresties. 85 is their absolute max temp, and they shouldn't stay at it for long periods. Day temps of 82 are OK as long as they can find a cooler resting spot if they want.

If you could lower the temp a bit on one end, you should be good. Night temps are fine the way they are, I think.
You have to post pics of that monster terrarium, BTW. It sounds so cool!

Pics???, 85 degrees is pushing it for cresteds and will stress them out if they are kept at this temp for extended periods.

Once they grow up and get used to you, they'll both be easier to handle, male or female.
