    I've never kept a bug in a cage, but one summer when I was a kid there was a small clump of weeds near my house that was just FULL of praying mantises, and I used to spend all day catching grasshoppers to feed them. They were very big and very happy buggies! I also tend to mollycoddle spiders, moths, and other things that wander into the house during the winter months.

    All my pet inverts are free-range...
