Yup that's a Dung Beetle, thought it was a june bug when i grabbed it out of the air... needless to say i washed my hands thoroughly and gave him a buggy bath after i discovered what he really was! Has to be the prettiest insect I've ever seen and he eats poo, well did anyway, I'm going to buy some canned dog/cat food to see if he'll roll it up and chew on that ;] Would I be gross if I found him a girlfriend in a poo pile? I have gloves! Maybe still, but it would be neat to breed these guys if they can thrive off of dog food, pretty sure they could as they also feed off of carrion. Imagine a tank of these little jewels all rolling around their little balls of dog food, I think it would be quite spectacular!

Give him poop and keep posting pictures of him. Quite spectacular. Wonder if there are any reptile terrariums that he could live in in which the reptile wouldn't eat him.

Dont think that horn would go down well... they eat dead things as well as dung wet dog/cat food should work just as well...

Be careful with commercial mammal food as the main diet, it can contain too much calcium that can really harm insects. They don't have a skeleton so a lot of the added minerals aren't good for them.

I agree with feeding him poop. They're dung beetles, not dogfood beetles.
