Default Gecko Time: New Rubbermaid Tub

Learn about the new Rubbermaid tub with built-in, clear front-opening door. It looks perfect for reptile caging and everyone is encouraged to play around with it and then submit their ideas. The ideas will be published later this summer: http://www.geckotime.com/rubbermaids...-caging-ideas/

These tubs are obviously a great enclosure solution for rhacs and other herps that don't require special heating/lighting, but I'm curious if they can also be rigged for basking type herps (heat tape/mats)....heat and plastic seem like a somewhat dangerous combination to me...

    What do you folks think?

    I wouldn't risk it.

I came soooo close to buying one last time I was in Walmart but the husband gave me that look. You know the one that says "why does she always have to spend money?" "why does she even need another gecko?"

Just tell him it's for storage purposes. It is a tote after all! Who doesn't love totes? It doesn't have to mean a future home for a gecko. Fill it with normal household stuff and then if a gecko shows up on the horizon...how convenient, you just happen to have a "backup" tote for him.
