    Default Tammy

Rest in peace my beautiful girl! You will be forever missed and forever loved. Tammy was the second gecko I ever got, she had such a wonderful personality. She was only two years old and the cause of her death is still unknown. It all happened very fast, we left for a week during spring break ( we had someone come in to take care of the animals) and when we came back I found her completely depleted. She lost about 20 grams of weight in one week! She looked like a ghost and she could barely move. At first I thought it was dehydration and I immediately gave her a sauna and put her in quarantine. That night she ate almost a full bowl of food from hands and started to look much better, but the next day things went downhill very fast. She couldn't support her body weight and she couldn't even bring herself to drink any water. When I went up to check on her during the day, I found her dead. My dad is a vet and one of his close friends is an exotics specialist so we brought her to him to figure out what went wrong. I'm still waiting for the results. I never thought she would be the one to go so suddenly, she was a big healthy gecko, always eating her repashy, she never had any problems with her eggs. I'm very sad to see her go but my hope is that her eggs will hatch out healthy babies so that I will still have a piece of her with me. RIP Tam Tam.

So sorry for your loss.... Unexpected deaths are very difficult to deal with..
Please keep us updated on the results as that is such a rapid and unusual death, and to know what could have caused it may help others prevent such things from happening in the future. I hope that her hatchlings make it easier for you to move on.
    RIP Tammy

    Hi Guys

I know I haven't posted in a while however I thought I'd let you know that Gary has passed away yesterday! I noticed he wasn't looking good so immediately took him to a vet who has experience with exotics! She established it looked like he had a fall and damaged his back! He died on the vet table when we were there! I'm devastated but its not putting me off and already considering continuing on!

    Hope you all well
