    Default Worm in my Dubia

I was checking my small dubia colony today, because I threw some old zucchinis in there I wanted to see how far along it was in getting eaten (I try not to have stuff sit too long)... and the roaches have been ravenous lately. Before I even get to finding the meal, I see my tore up male who survived from an old colony that had a huge die-off (eg I wasn't really doing my job)... and he has a white, maggot-like wormthing wiggling out of his butt. He's alive and scampered off with the maggot.
So I googled different combinations and phrases for "dubia parasite" and haven't gotten much. Some blurbs about different fly larvaes that will get into the food, but nothing mentioning it crawling out of my dubia's butt.

Has anyone ever seen this or know what it is.. and most importantly will it hurt my colony? I've really been kind of getting into them and the colony is doing well since I redid their house.

I find roaches revolting but that's very interesting, thanks for that!

    Oh. My. God.

I guess I freaked out because he's a little beat up and his butt looks a little different than the others. Right after my post I replaced all the crates and TP tubes and caught the offending male in a deli cup. He's got his.. stuff.. in order now. Back to the colony.

    Dem roaches be cray.

I'm dying laughing right now. And seriously that article was too much. My husband is sitting here wondering what I'm laughing at and I'm not about to say "roach dongs."

Wow. I was interested in a dubia colony. Now I'm skeered.
