Oh, Nolan I'm so sorry you lost him. What was he at the vet's for? Was he eating well? We had a clutch of corns this year and one didn't make it. It's heartbraking with the little ones. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm sorry Kevin, that's too bad he didn't make it. Maybe the vet will know what caused him to die?

Dude, that realy blows. I'm sorry. A couple of questions.
    1) Do you know what kind of paristes he had, and did the vet do a fecal exam.
    2) Are you sure he was being given antibiotics?
    3) Was the medication given orally or was it injected?
4)Is your vet quallified to treat herps?
Internal parasites are treated by injections of medications like invermectin and fenbendazole. Antibiotics are used for infections. Oral medications are usually inefective for snakes, and can cause problems. Before I knew any better, my ratsnake was being treated for a mouth abcess by a vet who has experience with herps. He prescribed 1/2 a pill hidden in a mouse. after the second dose, she started shaking involuntarily, and it kept up for about 2 months. I found another vet who is a herp specialist, and she told me that the abcess was healing on its own, and no medications were needed, and that pills should not have been prescribed. She was right.
Some vets would rather guess than admit they don't know what they are doing.
So are you going to get another?

ok the meds were injected yes they were antibiotics no fecal exam because when i took him he hadent eaten for a couple of months making it imposable to get any poop out of him, vets were not really reptile specialist but they were the only ones who would look at him, one worked in the rptile house at a local zoo so he had some experience but wasnt a specialist, as for getting another corn i dont think so, after the experience i have had with Rocky, i do not want to go through it again the months of not eating the scary vet visits, so probally no, sucks though cause i bought rocky a 40 gallon breeder for when he got bigger but so much for that. thanks for caring guys and girls.
