I would just like some clarification on something. People are complaining about the separations being made because some of these species (like crested and saras) can interbreed. Well, donkeys and horses make mules but they are widely accepted as different species. A domestic house cat and a serval make a savannah cat. Some hybrids are sterile (most to my knowledge) while others can produce viable offspring. So why are so many people upset with the delineation of these geckos?

Geographic isolation can also be a factor. Like in clownfish, amphiperon occellaris and amphiperon percula can interbreed, but geographic isolation keeps them separate species.
