    Talking "Surprise" Babies!

Alastair's second batch of eggs had a rough start. She laid them in her food dish (or rather, the little dish that keeps dirt out of her cap of CGD) and they were pretty dehydrated. We reinflated them with wet paper towels but one had an enormous seam down the side from the crease. Then, all my geckos moved to my new apartment, a trip which I'm sure wasn't great for developing eggs. Yet, after only 77 days, out popped these little beauties!

    Quincy (2.3 g at hatch!):

Francis (2.6 g - a little monster! He has fantastic markings.):

I still have no idea why Alastair doesn't like her lay boxes. I've got two enclosed hides as well as a log tunnel and the tunnel is the only one she hangs out in. I upgraded her from her 20H to a 29 so I can add more secure areas and hopefully once she settles in she'll start laying like a normal gecko.

And here's the older kids, Maurice and Gauss:

Interesting how both batches have a strong stripe and a retic from two kinda stripey parents.

Congrats on your new new little ones! They are absolutely lovely.
I thought the names of your geckos sounded familiar. I think I've seen you post about them in the herpers community on LJ!

They're so cute! I'm glad you were able to save the eggs, I have a female that always lays hers in the strangest spots - her food cup being her favorite.

And yes, that Herpers community on LJ & Mere are why I have gargoyles!

    Haha, thanks all!

Aalbertson, I think it only took a few days to get them to plump up, though one took a good deal longer than the other. They looked horrible!

And yes, I'm Nightmer on LJ/Tumblr. I'm glad my geckos are becoming internet famous! XD Synergy, that's awesome to hear. I love when people discover Gargs!
